This leather repair is a great way to fix your chair leather that is ripped or like mine worn and peeling off, it’s a bit thick but it’s got to be to hold up to the wear and tear that many seats go through. It was fairly easy to put on with the help of another person to make it right because it is stuck and doesn’t come off. Kinda like putting window tint on .The real deal! I have an extremely expensive leather recliner that is at least 15 years old. At the spot where I put my right hand Tavera down to push myself up the leather started to deteriorate and where through. I tried several small patches of other materials and none stock well. A months ago I installed these pouches. Not only did the Y and red color match nearly perfectly, but they were extremely easy to apply and the adhesive works quite well. I put one on each side so the chair looks balanced and I’ve had no problems cents. Considering the very low price of these I just certainly think they deserve five stars! So after a few years I guess my head has worn down an area of my couch. At first I tried a repair kit, which is basically paint and glue, but it didn't work. I don't think it was designed to have your head constantly stressing it.This is working much better so far. I used a hairdryer as others have suggested, after cleaning with alcohol. It is not as soft as the surrounding leather, which was a little distracting at first, but I've gotten used to it. I probably should have gone a little lower, as the parts that curl and wrinkle near the seam at the top I think may be getting weak on the glue. I got a larger piece than the tear was, but I figure the surrounding area will get stressed too.All these repair solutions tend to work best if it's on a spot that you aren't constantly "wearing". Of course then it probably wouldn't need repair. :)Had to patch my driver seat on my G 35 in a tough to patch spot where you swivel out of the car sticks well for my very awkward situation and color matches quite well (stone gray leather)Update: I used 3 patches on my car seat... after almost 2 months, the ones I sit on have not peeled up AT ALL. They still look exactly like the picture. There is one on the back of my seat that has peeled up, but I rub it EVERY TIME I get in the car. It's right on the edge. I'm going to re-apply this one so that the edge is wrapped around my seat more. I'm updating from 4 to 5 star because the patches in the pic are still perfectly adhered.I should have taken a "before" shot ... door side of driver seat had some bad rips and a few new ones, and middle seam was starting to tear (2013 Outback w/ 130,000 miles of wear and tear).Easy to use, cut, handle. Nervous that the edges will peel away, so will update review if so ... Even though it's not a perfect match, it looks much better than the tears and will keep the seat from further damage. Was happy with the results and glad I decided on this type of product vs. a tube of glue/black repair stuff.Very easy to install. Color matched perfect. Was able to cover up the peeling chairs in my camper. Waiting to see how well it holds up but so far it has been great. It really worked well with improving the look of my camper. They didn’t have the right color available at the time I needed but I needed something to cover a rip in our car and it worked fine. It’s been there for a few months and it hasn’t come off or started to come off.I used these on the front seats of our Honda. Love that I found leather and found them easy to apply. But as I have driven the car or had passengers, the front of the patches have slid towards the back of the seat, leaving a 3/8” view of the adhesion. If I had to redo, I would pack the gap of the seat with something so that the leather would not find that gap to slide in to. Would also purchase an extra adhesive to reinforce what it is coated with. But it looks much better than the raw opening I had in the seat which I tried to unsuccessfully stitch closed.Super impressed! I searched for so long for a good leather patch. I finally found this one randomly and it doesn’t even have the most reviews but it’s so good!! I first bought the wrong colour (dark brown) and was disappointed but I returned it which was super easy, I just had to print the return slip and as soon as the package was in transit my refund was processed. Also I ordered the one with 3 inside thinking it wouldn’t be enough and it was way more than I needed so the second time I got dark brown no.5 and it was a perfect match, and since the rips weren’t too big I only got the one pack and I still have more than half of it left. The tape side is 3M and it’s super adhesive, I haven’t noticed any of it coming off and it’s easy to bend and shape around corners. Overall super impressed and would recommend! Just try to turn your phone brightness all the way up when you’re trying to choose a colour and place it against what you’re trying to match it with. That’s how I got the right colour the second time.I can't speak highly enough about these fabric patches. I have a very dark brown couch that is 13 years old that had faded over the years and is a favourite spot for two big dogs (malamute and german shepherd) to sleep. The top grain leather finally gave out and the hole just got bigger and bigger. I ordered three different dark brown patches and the dark brown #5 worked the best. It's almost a black/brown. The patches have now been affixed going on two weeks with no lifting at all. The dogs have been using the couch as always..... I did use a second product that I also ordered from Amazon to refinish the leather that had faded, Jobsite Premium Leather Boot & Shoe Polish Cream - Restores, Conditions & Polishes. It blended very well (used both black and dark brown) and no colour came off on clothing. Overall I am so pleased with the result and was able to save my couch for a bit longer.I had my doubts about this but now have to say that I am pleasantly impressed. The leather on my car door had become worn/cracked. I didn't want to spend $100s to get it fixed so thought I'd try this as a cheaper option. It has been through hot summer days and cold winter days. My car stays outdoors 24/7 and it hasn't cracked or peeled. The backing has bonded well to the leather. I'll report back in a few months to let you know if anything changes. So there’s this one spot on my couch that had inexplicably started to fissure a few years back. The rest of the couch is in pristine condition—including the other armrest—but this one spot just kept splitting into these tiny ‘hairline cracks’, like little slices with a knife.Since there’s no way to just slide an armrest into a sewing machine to fix this one ten-inch strip, the upholsterer would’ve had to sew a whole new panel, complete with seams—and then disassemble that part of the couch in order to install the new panel onto the armrest. It would’ve been a big job, and it wouldn’t have been cheap. So when I tripped over these leather patches online yesterday (yes, just yesterday!) while browsing around for other things entirely, I figured I’d give it a shot. After all, what did I have to lose—? Fifteen bucks? (Not even!) Figured it was worth a try . . .As you can see, I hit paydirt. (The photos are high-res, but I’m not sure whether they’ll appear that way online.) The camera picked up a slight color variation that you can barely see when you’re looking at the couch directly (i.e., with your eyes, not with a camera lens), but in real life, the patch is a freakishly close match in color.I can’t believe those ugly little slices in the armrest are finally “gone”—and so easily! Holy smokes. I would recommend these patches to anybody who doesn’t have a 3-digit figure lying around in the budget for more drastic measures, and who really wants to save/extend the life of their furniture. For a near-seamless repair like the one I achieved, the key, obviously, would be getting the closest possible color match to your furniture—but if you can’t get a perfect match (either in color or in texture), you could still get a patch that may stand out, but that will just look like a quirky novelty/accessory and fit in with other colors in the room.If I’d known that such a thing as a strong-adhesive faux-leather patch (and in such a range of colors!) existed, I would’ve been all over it years ago. The only possible option I’d ever thought of was maybe brown duct tape—but I was loathe to introduce duct tape, of all ugly things, into an elegant living room full of antiques. (That couch is the only piece of modern furniture in the whole room.)If you’re debating whether or not to give it a shot, don’t (debate any longer): it’s infinitely cheaper than a professional upholstery job, and if you’re really concerned about the adhesive (I’m not; the adhesive appears to be perfectly efficient), just dab the edges of the patch with a thin film of industrial glue before you install it, so you won’t have to worry about any lifting. This is worth every penny.I should have taken a before and after photo. Our loveseat had several tears which we've tried to repair with black electrical tape which had to be reapplied several times. We cut the patch to fit the space and it has really good adhesion, taking special care after reading others' reviews about how you can't adjust it. I couldn't find info on how to clean the area prior so it was wiped with just some water on a clean cloth, air dried, and then applied the patch. For our loveseat the colour matched perfectly to the point I forgot it was on it. Immediately ordered another one for a different piece of furniture. The patch is worth it to not have to have the piece re-upholestered. So instead of throwing out the old loveseat when our new one arrives, we'll put the repaired piece in our rec room.
