Up until a month ago I had been having such a lower back and hip problem that I was using a cane and had been for about 6 months. A great chiropractor has me heading toward better mobility but I realized that the shoes I had been wearing were contributing to the problem. Unless I wore my sneakers it was too jarring - but can't wear sneakers to work. Finally broke down and bought these shoes for their support, their soft insoles, and the fact they are for diabetic feet, which is another problem I have. I've had them less than a week and I'm already noticing a difference in my stride and gait. Although I still have along road before me I think this will lessen the time.Not only do these feel good but they look good also. They look great with pants and I suspect they will go fine with most of my skirts. I've noticed they have some dressier styles also, and I may eventually get a pair that will go with more stylish outfits that I occasionally wear. I bought a black pair since they will go with most of my colors. Eventually I may also get some in other colors.The main thing is that my feet are fitting better. The only complaint I have is that I have a very narrow heel so it doesn't fit as well on that part of my foot, though this is a problem I have with every pair of shoes I've ever owned. Some of the OrthoFeet designs have a back tab that can narrow or widen the heel, but this is not one of them. I've decided I'll make sure to get some of those heel cushions that grab hold of sock/stockings and prevent the little bit of slippage I'm feeling. I can also wear thicker socks to stop a lot of it.Overall I love these shoes after only a few days, and I plan to buy more as the budget allows.
