It is real leather, and it looks really nice. I don’t use it as a backpack as much as I thought I would, but it’s comfortable as a shoulder bag. The straps are too long for me to wear as a back pack and have them a decent length as a shoulder bag. For reference I’m 4’11”, so in someone average height it might work better as both. I wish it was a bit deeper. It tapers at the top so fitting a book, notebook and thin coffee tumbler makes it bulge a bit on the top. But I still use it daily. I really like it.Leather and hardware are both pretty shiny (I got black), looks very nice though and quality seems good. If you’re considering this backpack, keep in mind how much you intend to keep in it. Because it tapers at the top, if it’s full it’s very hard to access anything inside on the go. The strap placement also hampers this, since they criss-cross over the top of the bag, it can be hard to quickly grab anything. The ease of switching between shoulder bag and backpack is nice.It’s better than in picture. Very sturdy and easy to wear. I like how it sits on my back and the security of the cross bands outside and zipper interiors. Keeps me hands free. Has a nice simple classic look. It “trendy” or too young like other backpacks.This is a great bag. I have been using it almost daily for over one year now and it still looks new. I get so many compliments. I constantly toggle back and forth between backpack mode and over the shoulder style so I was afraid the straps would fray. After a year there is no fraying at all. I can fit my small laptop and a notebook in it and although it might be in there snugly, there is still room for my wallet, a tiny umbrella, a tube of lotion and a few other random items. It has just the right amount of pockets—enough to keep everything in its place but not so many that you can’t find anything. I love it!nice back pack. the shoulder straps are part cloth part leather. the front pocket - of limited use. otherwise - nice.The product is great.Love the color, feel, size, storage capacity, and it seems sturdy; zipper snagged at first, but smooth once it got past the "nitch". I would give the bag 5 stars but I fear that the straps will fray. I've found that no matter the quality or designer of some bags, within 6 months the straps begin to fray, and the edges on the straps of this bag already look unfinished. But I'm hopeful this won't happen and will be sure to write a follow-up review in June 2022.I think the best feature is that it tapers toward the top. This makes it look classier than an average leather backpack. It holds two wallets, small journal, and my 10-in Kindle fire with no problem. The front pocket has a magnet and is really only useful for small flat objects and a few pens. The zipper pocket in the back holds my jumble of keys and lipsticks. There's a nice deep in our pocket on the back that holds anything you want. Because it's at the top, it's easy to access and I use that for my credit card wallet and cash. The large dividing pocket in the middle holds my 6x9-in journal. I like mine and it seems to be really good quality. I've gotten a lot of compliments.
